I hate haircuts. At the end of every haircut, you know what I get? Shorter hair. That's it. But today at my sister's request I stepped into Anila's...and was pleasantly surprised. I got a bomb haircut. That in itself was surprising, but you know what's scarce these days? Craftsmanship. I don't know if Anila was the woman gently washing my hair, slowly untangling the length of it with expert but careful hands. I've had lengthy experiences at salons. I've had rushed sessions. This felt more like art being created than anything else. It's the difference between someone who knows what they're doing and someone who loves what they're doing, and believe me, the difference is colossal. This tiny woman with delicate hands gathered my hair with the easiest of movements. She made my hair into art, and she listened to what I wanted. What else could you ask for?
